Job Description

DMS is seeking a Senior Instructor/Facilitator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering engaging and impactful leadership development programs to diverse audiences. This individual will be responsible for designing, facilitating, and evaluating leadership training sessions aimed at developing essential skills and competencies for leaders at all levels. The role requires strong facilitation skills, subject matter expertise in leadership development, coaching experience, and relevant certification credentials. The ability to inspire and motivate participants to achieve their full potential is essential. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, delivering, and evaluating high-impact Department of Defense leadership development programs that empower leaders to drive organizational success.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop comprehensive leadership training programs and curriculum that align with organizational goals, objectives, and leadership competencies.
  • Facilitate engaging and interactive leadership training seminars, workshops, and coaching sessions for individuals, teams, and groups of varying sizes.
  • Deliver high-quality instruction and facilitate meaningful discussions on topics such as 360 assessments, communication, emotional intelligence, team building, conflict resolution, and strategic leadership.
  • Use a variety of instructional methods, techniques, and adult learning principles to accommodate diverse learning styles and preferences.
  • Incorporate experiential learning activities, case studies, role-plays, and simulations to enhance participant engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Provide constructive feedback, coaching, and support to participants to help them develop their leadership skills and capabilities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, and external partners to identify training needs, customize content, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging research in leadership development and adult education.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of leadership training programs through participant feedback, performance assessments, and program evaluations.
  • Continuously assess and refine training materials, methodologies, and content based on participant feedback and evaluation data.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Masters’s degree in organizational development, leadership studies, business administration, management, psychology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience in learning and development, leadership education, leader development, and facilitation via live and virtual delivery methods.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience designing and facilitating leadership training programs and seminars for the federal government inclusive of DoD enterprise knowledge, military knowledge, and adult learning principles.
  • Proven expertise in leadership development concepts, theories, and practices, with a focus on coaching, communication, emotional intelligence, and team dynamics.
  • Strong facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire participants from diverse backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Experience with DoD terminal learning objectives for leadership development programs, DoD civilian leader development framework, and OPM proficiency levels for leadership competencies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport, establish credibility, and foster a supportive learning environment.
  • Experience working with senior executives, managers, and leaders across various industries and sectors.
  • Coaching experience and certification credentials (e.g., International Coach Federation certification) preferred.
  • Ability to adapt training content and delivery methods to meet the needs of different audiences and learning environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other presentation software and experience with virtual training platforms including Zoom, MS Teams, Google Meet, and others.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous learning in the field of leadership development including current events and leadership topics affecting emerging and entry-level professionals.
