Job Description

DMS International (DMS) is seeking a Type Desk Analyst who will provide Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) services for fleet sustainment programs.

The Type Desk Analyst will develop, analysis, and maintain an accurate shipboard system/equipment configuration baselines at both the class and individual ship level to include:

  • Identify new, remove any obsolete equipment.
  • Analysis of ship work specification packages to identify equipment scheduled to be installed, removed, or relocated and their associated actions.
  • Identification and data maintenance of MSC Item Unique Identification (IUID) information.
  • Development, and analysis of associated ILS documentation such as XRIC and Allowance Part List/Allowance Equipage List (APL/AEL) identification.
  • Analysis to identify and correct configuration deficiencies.
  • Preparation, review, and submission of feedback documentation
  • Development, analysis and maintenance of accurate shipboard and ashore allowance baselines at the class and individual ship level to support mission requirements.
  • Identification, development, and analysis of allowance documents and inventory levels/supply system posture to support planned/unplanned maintenance.
  • Identification, analysis, and resolution of equipment/part supportability issues.
  • Alignment of class allowances.
  • Research, submission, tracking and validation of requisitions and material required to support ship mission, repair, ashore allowances, and shipboard allowance requirements.
  • Technical edit screening and market research for material requirements.
  • Technical manual reviews to determine correct spares.
  • Preparation and submission of supporting documentation in accordance with MSC and Federal requirements.
  • Preparation and review of documentation to move material between MSC and vendor sites.
  • Research and update of material identification and pricing in support of FIAR.
  • Task administration, team training and quality assurance activities.
  • Articulation of logistics contractual requirements and management/review of deliverables.
  • The assessment logistics support risks and corresponding mitigation strategies
  • Improvements to processes, procedures, and/or ILS contractual requirements.
  • Preparation and submission of Ad-Hoc reports.
  • Application approved MSC QMS procedures.
  • Active participation in meetings and presentations.
  • Customer service skills to include written and verbal communication with Government Type Desk personnel.
  • Use and expertise using various Government and Commercial automated systems and databases,
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • LogiQuest/OneTouch or other research tools
  • Development of maintenance-driven (e.g. Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM)) sparing levels (afloat/ashore) to improve system/equipment Operational Availability (Ao)
  • Research, submission, tracking and validation of requisitions and material required to support ship mission, repair, ashore allowances, and shipboard allowance requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 8 years of demonstrated knowledge, expertise, and relevant experience providing ship acquisition and/or fleet sustainment logistics support services to vessels of the MSC, U.S. Navy, or U.S. Coast Guard.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, expertise, and relevant experience providing a full range of ILS support services sustaining the mission of vessels worldwide.
