Job Description

DMS is seeking a talented Grant Writer to join our team. The Grant Writer will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and preparing compelling responses to grant proposals.

Responsibilities

  • Research and identify grant opportunities from key funders, including public, private, and technical research.
  • Develop grant proposals that effectively communicate our organization's expertise, approach, and impact to potential funders.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to gather information and ensure proposals are comprehensive and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Manage the grant application process from start to finish, including submission, follow-up, and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to grant prospecting and relationship building with funders to maximize funding opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field including International Relations, Public Administration, or Development Studies.
  • Proven track record of successful grant writing, particularly with grants from USAID, U.S. Department of State, and Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR's).
  • In-depth understanding of grant programs, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Exceptional writing skills with the ability to craft persuasive and technically sound grant proposals.
  • Strong project management skills with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with grant management software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the international development sector, particularly in the Middle East and Africa.
  • Knowledge of Foresight Leadership methodologies and their application in the public sector.
  • Familiarity with government procurement processes and international development frameworks.
  • Experience with education, arts, culture and media grants, specifically with a mix of local and national private foundation and government grants.
  • Familiarity with SBIR's and STTR's.
